To us this means having a strong commitment to best practices in food safety, responsible procurement, energy conservation, community focus and really just finding the best, most efficient way to get things done.
In the early 2000s we were one of the few food distributors in the SoCal region to get HACCP certification for our state-of-the-art warehouse facility in Los Angeles. In 2013 we took our commitment to the next level by earning the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) certification. In 2016 we have continued the trend and become certified with the California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF) to source and sell organic produce of the highest standard. We continually hold third party audits, maintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and provide for a quick responding recall program in order to sustain quality control for our partners and ourselves.
Our sustainable foods inventory includes a comprehensive line of organic produce, dairy and cage free eggs. The Worldwide Locally Grown program directly sources specialty produce and dairy products from local Southern California farmers and community farmers markets.
The Los Angeles, San Diego and Las Vegas facilities service their local communities so we can guarantee the freshest produce and reduce food miles traveled. Well maintained vehicles and route optimization processes make our fleet of refrigerated vans and trucks fast and efficient on the road.
We also recycle at least 30% of our packaging waste and use green sanitation practices because it just makes sense.
