Stone Fruit: Chilean Peaches and Nectarines quality are still good; Saturn (donut) Peaches and White Nectarines are available. Plums are Apricots are very good. Bing and Rainier Cherries are very nice; prices have unchanged...

Tomato Report: The market has settled in; growers are reporting no changes this week in pricing; quality is good on two Layer and Loose; Roma Tomatoes may go higher by weeks end. Grape Tomatoes are good; prices are low. Cherry Tomato prices are unchanged. Cluster Tomatoes are still short; prices remain high....

Lettuce Report: Iceberg and leaf prices are firming up; Spinach continues to be short; prices are unchanged; Mescaline salad quality is recovering; supply is much better. Baby Arrugula and Baby Spinach are in better shape too....

Berry News: Strawberries; quality is hit and miss; cold and wet weather isaffecting both quality and prices. Long Stem Strawberries could be a problem as well; weather will be a definite factor. Raspberries and Blackberries remain short and higher priced for the same reason; Blueberries are still the best alternative; quality is good and prices are low…

Fruit Report: Apples and Pears: Supply and quality remain good. Avocados: Availability of California fruit is very good; quality is excellent. Citrus: No change on Texas Grapefruit and Valencia oranges; Lemon prices are up on large choice fruit; Limes prices are higher; California Navel oranges are very good; prices are low; Local Grown Valencia Oranges are finished for the season. Grapes: Chilean Green and Red Grape supply is good; prices are significantly lower; Black seedless is now available. Cantaloupes are short; quality is mediocre and prices are high; Honeydew availability is better but sugar content is minimal; prices are unchanged. We have both Maui and South American pineapples; quality is good and prices are up on Maui’s....

Vegetable Report: Artichokes: Frost damage is evident; supplies are short especially on loose chokes; prices remain high. Asparagus: Prices are off and quality on Mexican grass is very good. Blue Lake Beans: Mexican bean quality good; prices are up; Chinese Long Beans remain short; prices are high. Broccoli: Supply is better; prices are easing off. Cauliflower: Supply is better; prices have dropped. Celery: availability is good; prices are unchanged. Cabbage: Green cabbage prices are edging up. Carrots: Prices are unchanged. Cucumbers: Supplies are good but prices are up; Hothouse cucumbers are up too. Eggplant: Globe prices are unchanged; Japanese, Italian, and Chinese eggplant have transitioned to Mexico; quality is mediocre and prices are strong. Onions: Brown, red, and white onions prices are low; Green Onions are prices are getting back to normal. Peppers: Green Bells are up; Red Bells are heading up; Gold Bells are unchanged. Green and Gold Zucchini: Quality is good and prices have are unchanged. Straightneck Squash prices are unchanged; quality is good...
