Stone Fruit:
New crop Chilean peaches are here; quality is good; fruit is hard; prices are high. Single layer Chilean apricots are in the market; the fruit is clean and prices are high. Chilean Cherries are continuing to improve in size and flavor. Chilean plums are here...


Tomato Report: Tomatoes overall are offbut large fruit is at a premium; prices on Roma tomatoes have finally adjusted downwards; quality is improved. Grape Tomatoes: Prices are down and product is more readily available. Cherry Tomatoes: Quality is good; prices are unchanged. Heirloom Tomatoes: Fruit is short; quality is poor; prices are high. Cluster tomato prices are off slightly....


Lettuce Report:
Iceberg and leaf are settling in as the transition from Salinas to the desert is finally complete; product quality is very good and case weights are improving; Romaine hearts and Spring mix are becoming more readily available; prices have adjusted back to normal....



Berry News:
Strawberry quality is about the same; prices are on the rise. Blackberries and Raspberries are much less expensive; now is a good time to promote. Blueberries are out of Argentina; prices are status quo....

Fruit Report: Apples: All varieties of Washington apples are in including Braeburn, Gala, Fuji, Honeycrisp, Jonathan, Jonagold, Macintosh, and Pink Lady. Avocados: Mexican fruit continues to be the kind to buy; prices are off slightly as demand eases after the holiday. Citrus: Texas Grapefruit is excellent; Lemons are unchanged; Limes growers are trying to go up but so far they are unchanged. California Navels are improving in quality; Texas Juicing Oranges are here; Quality is good; prices are unchanged. Grapes: Chilean fruit is two weeks away and California is filling the gap; quality is good but prices are on the rise. Cantaloupes are very short this week; prices are high; Honeydews are easier; prices are lower. Watermelon prices are down. Maui Pineapple is having problems; Costa Rica has better quality lower priced fruit now.....

Vegetable Report: Artichokes: Supplies are short and transportation is a problem; prices are up. Asparagus: Prices are off. Blue Lake Beans: Supply is easier but prices are remaining high. Broccoli: Prices are off; product is plentiful. Cauliflower: Availability and prices are better this week. Celery: Prices are down after the holiday demand eases up. Cabbage: Green Cabbage is off; Red is unchanged. Carrots: No change in prices. Corn: Prices are off on Mexican corn but the size is much smaller due to cooler overnight temperatures. Cucumbers: Quality is good; prices are unchanged. Eggplant: Quality is still improved on Mexican product; prices are down. Onions: Brown, red, and white onions prices are low. Peppers: Green is cheaper; Red is unchanged; Gold is tight and prices are up. Zucchini: Product is in good supply; quality is good and prices are low. Mexican Gold Zucchini is better; prices are down. Straightneck quality is excellent; prices are unchanged
