Stone Fruit: There are precious few peaches and plums left; everything has been harvested and we don’t expect any more California or Washington fruit this season; quality still is good. Nectarines and Apricots are finished…..


Tomato Report: The entire tomato market remains in short supply; prices on Roma, 2 layers and volume filled are very strong; we are hoping to get some relief by the end of the week when more supplies become available. Grape Tomatoes: Prices are up and product is short. Cherry Tomatoes: Quality is good; prices are unchanged. Heirloom Tomatoes: The California season is over; quality is poor and prices are high. Cluster tomato prices are coming down....


Lettuce Report:
Iceberg prices are falling rapidly as supply is catching up with demand; some growers are making the annual transition to the Huron area bringing more leaf into the mix. Romaine is still short as processors are short of product to make hearts. Greenleaf and Redleaf are in the picture too but pricing is not quite as steep....


Berry News: Strawberries are short; prices are on the rise. Blackberries are up too; quality remains good. Blueberries are Oregon cold storage fruit; prices are very high; Argentinean fruit is expected later in the week. Raspberries are maintaining their status quo....

Fruit Report: Apples: Washington is shipping new crop; varieties include Braeburn, Gala, Fuji, Honeycrisp, Jonathan, Jonagold, Macintosh, and Pink Lady. Avocados: We are shipping Mexican and Chilean Fruit with a small supply of California fruit expected later this week. Citrus: Texas Grapefruit is now available; Lemons are getting tougher; Lime prices are unchanged. California Valencia’s are good; Navels have started but quality is not there yet; Texas Juicing Oranges are here; Quality is improving; prices are high. Grapes: California is winding down; quality is improving but prices are on the rise. Cantaloupes are up; new crop Mexican fruit is only fair; Honeydews are easier; prices are lower. Watermelon prices are up again; quality is mediocre. Maui Pineapple is still short; Costa Rica has the lower priced fruit now.....

Vegetable Report: Artichokes: Choke supplies and prices are unchanged. Asparagus: Prices have leveled off. Blue Lake Beans: Mexican beans are arriving; the market is off. Broccoli: Prices remain firm; product is short. Cauliflower: Availability also tight; prices are up again. Celery: Prices are edging back up. Cabbage: Green Cabbage is better; prices are down; Red is up. Carrots: No change in prices. Corn: White is getting better; yellow remains short and higher priced. Cucumbers: Supply is still short; prices are unchanged. Eggplant: Quality is still good; prices are unchanged. Onions: Brown, red, and white onions prices are low. Peppers: Green, Red, and Gold are finishing in California; prices are up. Zucchini: Product is in good supply; quality is good and prices are low. Gold Zucchini is very short; prices are high and what little is out there is being prorated; we are substituting Straightneck. Straightneck quality is excellent; prices are unchanged
