Tomato
Report: Prices are firm on vine ripe 2 layers; gas green loose tomatoes are winding down in Northern California; prices are edging up. Roma tomato supplies are a little better; prices are softening up. Grape Tomatoes: Prices remain low. Cherry Tomatoes: Quality is good; prices are low. Heirloom Tomatoes: Prices are firm. Supplies Cluster tomato remain low.... |
Lettuce
Report: Iceberg, romaine, and read leaf have settled down and prices are beginning to recede. Boston and Greenleaf remain legitimately short and growers are demanding and getting premium prices. Spinach remains short but is for the most part still available...

Berry
News: Strawberry supplies are better; prices are lower. Blackberries and Raspberries are plentiful; prices are unchanged. Blueberries are becoming scarce; growers are beginning to pack in the smaller 4 oz clams; prices are strong.... |
Fruit
Report: Avocados: California fruit is the best available and prices remain high; Chilean is available now but is no real bargain; first picks of Mexican show low oil content. Citrus: Grapefruit prices are unchanged; Lemons are strong. Limes are short due to the hurricane Dean; prices are up. California Valencia’s are good; prices are unchanged. Figs: Most are black mission; quality is good and prices are low. Grapes: All Grapes are of excellent quality; prices are low. Cantaloupes and Honeydews are all good; mixed melons are finished except for a few Canary, Crenshaw, and Casaba. Watermelon prices have leveled off; quality is good..... |

Report: Artichokes: Choke supplies are light; prices are strong. Asparagus: Large and medium are prevalent; jumbo remains in short supply and prices are quite high. Blue Lake Beans: Quality is good and prices are firm. Broccoli: Export demand is easing up; prices are down. Cauliflower: Prices are down as well. Celery: Prices have leveled off. Cabbage: Green is very short and prices are high; red remains cheap. Carrots: No change in prices; supplies are back to normal. Corn: Quality is very good as we move to the Northern California crop; prices are cheap. Cucumbers: Supply is light and prices are up. Eggplant: Globe Eggplant is better; prices are off. Onions: Brown onions prices are down; no change in reds or whites. Peppers: Green bells are steady; prices are low; Red and Gold bells are in light supply; prices are high. Zucchini: Growers have good supply of good quality Italian; prices are low. Straightneck is in getting short; prices are up; Gold Zucchini is in good supply and quality is good; prices are a coming back down... |
