Specialty: Champagne Grapes are in season; quality is nice. Rambutan and Lychee Nuts are available. French Beans, Yellow Wax, and Baby Squashes are all in oversupply; prices are low; now is a good time to promote.


Stone Fruit: This winters freeze is helping to create a bumper crop of cherries; large sizes are abundant and quality is excellent. Peaches, Nectarines, and Plums are all excellent as well. New crop Patterson apricots are available…


Tomato Report: Prices on 2 layer vine ripe tomatoes are up; 4x4 and 4x5 sizes with good color are very short. Roma tomatoes are short; prices are heading up. Grape Tomatoes: Prices remain low. Cherry Tomatoes: Quality is excellent. Heirloom Tomatoes: Supply is increasing; prices are coming down. Supplies of cluster tomatoes are heavy; prices are very low...

Lettuce Report: The market remains flat; prices are unchanged and all leaf and iceberg is readily available...


Berry News: Strawberries: Production is up due to the heat; prices are coming down. Blackberries are in tight supply; prices will be heading up; Blueberries are very nice and prices are low. Raspberries growers are forecasting light production over the next three weeks; expect limited supplies and higher prices....

Fruit Report: Avocados: Prices are unchanged. Citrus: Grapefruit prices are unchanged; No change on Lemons; smaller sizes are the best buy now. No change in Lime pricing. California Valencia’s are very good; prices are unchanged. Figs: Brown Turkish and black Mission figs are plentiful; quality is excellent. Grapes: California Black, Red, and Green seedless are very good, prices are down. Northern California Cantaloupes have started; big sizes are short; prices on large melons are heading up. Honeydew prices have leveled off. Watermelon prices are low; yellow seedless watermelons are also available. We are featuring Tuscan Sweet and Pureheart petite watermelons from Dulcinea; quality is excellent.....

Vegetable Report: Artichokes: Chokes are in better supply, prices are unchanged. Asparagus: Prices are up; jumbos are sizing small. Blue Lake Beans: Quality is good and prices are low. Broccoli: Prices remain low. Cauliflower: Prices are unchanged. Celery: Prices are heading back up. Cabbage: No change in pricing. Carrots: Prices have leveled off; supplies have gone back to normal. Corn: Quality is very good as we move to the Northern California crop; prices have leveled off. Cucumbers: Supply remains long and prices are steady. Eggplant: Globe Eggplant is good; prices are unchanged. Onions: Brown onions prices have leveled off; no change in reds or whites. Peppers: Red and Green bells are steady; Gold bells are in light supply; prices are heading up. Zucchini: Prices are low. Straightneck is in good supply; prices are low; Gold Zucchini is very nice; prices are low...
