Tomato
Report: Supplies remain tight and prices high for round slicing tomatoes. The harvest in Mexico is two weeks behind schedule with very limited production. Baja California growers continue to suffer low yields. Grape and cherry tomatoes are in extreme tight supply. |

Lettuce
Report: The lettuce markets are starting to come down slowly except for Greenleaf. When Romaine prices were so high people switched Romaine to Greenleaf which tightened supplies. Romaine hearts continue to be in tight supply and prices are continuing to trend upward.

Berry
News: Rain and cold weather have caused strawberries to be in tight supply. The early season harvest in Florida is getting underway. Blackberries and raspberries are in good supply. The blueberry harvest is quickly winding down in Argentina; Chile will soon become the primary growing area. Prices are high and quality is good. |
Fruit
Report: California Naval oranges are in good supply for all sizes and quality is great. Satsuma mandarins, Fairchild tangerines, pummelos, Oro Blancos, Clementine mandarins, and Minneola tangelos are available and in good supply. Washington apples are in good supply. The harvest is quickly winding down for California grapes; however, Chilean grapes will be available in next few weeks. California kiwi is in good supply. New crop limes from Mexico are in good supply. Central American pineapple is in good supply. Cantaloupe market is very active. Honeydews are in steady supply. Watermelon prices are steady and quality is good. |
Vegetable
Report: Asparagus is in good supply. Green onions from Mexico are in good supply. However, California leeks are in tight supply, as well as, curly and Italian parsley, snow peas, bok choy, and napa cabbge. Broccoli supplies have tightened considerable for both bunched and crowns, due to cold weather. Cauliflower is in adequate supply, and prices are firm. Strong market conditions continue for jumbo and cello carrots, with growers experiencing continued light yields in Bakersfield. Prices for cucumbers have firmed in Nogales, with cooler weather conditions slowing production. Green bell peppers are in good supply, while red bells are in tight supply. Celery is very short supply, with no relief till mid January. |
