Tomato Report: Round tomatoes will be in tight supply at high prices through the first week of December. Availability and supply have improved for Roma tomatoes. Also, grape tomatoes are in tight supply and higher prices this week.

Lettuce Report: Lettuces began coming out of Yuma this week. Iceberg pricing is still high but Romaine is coming down in price as availability and quality improve. The overall lettuce pricing is still high but pricing should continue to ease off and quality should begin to improve.


Berry News: The quality and appearance of new crop strawberries from Mexico are continuing to improve. Raspberries and blackberries from Mexico are in good supply; while blueberries from Argentina are in tight supply. We are anticipating the harvest from Chile to help relieve prices.

Fruit Report: We continue to have both Chilean and Mexican avocados available; however Mexican avocados are the only ones that we recommend. Central American pineapple is in good supply. New crop limes from Mexico are in good supply especially on the larger size (110’s & 150’s) Pomegranates, Asian pears, and Fuyu & Hachiya persimmons are in good supply. Fuji apples and Bartlett pears continue to be in good supply.

Vegetable Report: Prices remain steady for bunched broccoli and broccoli crowns. Celery continues to be in tight supply; quality is very good. Cauliflower is in tight supply and prices are starting to trend higher. The market is strong for jumbo carrots. Cucumbers are in good supply and prices are at a great buy. Green bell peppers are in steady supply and prices are coming down. Red bell and yellow peppers continue to be in okay supply, but yellow peppers continue to be high prices. Asparagus is in good supply and prices are steady.

As with all fresh fruits and vegetables, the market could change daily . . .
