 Tomato
Report: Roma and round tomatoes are in good supplies and prices are holding firm. Cherry tomatoes are in good supply and are at a good price. Grape tomatoes are starting to trend higher in price. |

 Lettuce
Report: Iceberg, romaine, and leaf lettuces continue to be in good supply, and at a great buy. Quality, head size, and carton weights are all very good.

 Berry
News: The recent cool weather has reduced production for strawberries, causing an increase in prices. Blackberries will continue to be in very short supply until the harvest resumes in Central Mexico and Baja California in late October. Raspberries continue to be in fair supply and prices are firm. Blueberry supplies continue to be tight, and prices are trending higher. |
 Fruit
Report: We continue to have both Chilean and Mexican avocados available; however Mexican avocados are a much better choice due to their higher oil content. The California Valencia season will continue through mid October. Lime production is increasing and prices are trending lower, especially for small size limes. Pineapples from Central America will be in tight supply through early November. Availability continues to improve for large sized cantaloupes. Honeydew melons are having supply issues on large size, but small size is not affected. Watermelon season is quickly winding down in California, and production will soon start of Texas. Late season peaches will be available through early October, while nectarines are finished for the season. Pomegranates and persimmons are now available. The market on black seedless grapes is starting to rise, while Red Globes are in good supply. |
 Vegetable
Report: Due to increase supply out of Georgia cucumber prices are starting to trend downward. Prices are trending sharply higher for bunched broccoli, broccoli crowns, and cauliflower. Supplies are tightening for large sized celery. Carrots continue to be in great supply out of California, Michigan, and Washington. Bok Choy and napa cabbage are rising in price due to the reduced planted acreage for this time of year. Availability continues to be tight for snow peas. Supplies are tighter than normal for the large sized super colossal onions; however, we have good supplies on yellow, red, and white onions. Red bell peppers are starting to come down in price due to good supply while green bell peppers are rising in price. |
