Locally Grown: # 4780, Locally Grown Organic Heirloom Cherry Tomatoes, 12/12 oz, grown out of Santa Barbara County.


Tomato Report: The market on Roma tomatoes has begun to trend upward due to quality issues, and fewer planted acres in California. Round tomato pricing has firmed up due to supplies tightening. Cherry and Grape tomatoes are in good supply.

Lettuce Report: Iceberg, and leaf lettuces supplies are steady and prices are firm. Romaine lettuce is still struggling with quality issues, but quality is expected to improve over the next few weeks.


Berry News: The strawberry market continues to trend upward in price due to the seasonal decline of production. Blackberries are high in price and tight in supply. Raspberries are in good supply and prices are trending downward. Blueberries are in good supply due to the warm weather conditions we have been having, and prices are at a good buy.

Fruit Report: Availability has tightened for all melons, especially for cantaloupes, and watermelons.  Honeydews are still at a good buy, but prices are expected to begin to start trending upward after this week.  The California Hass avocado season is rapidly coming to a close; we will be looking at Mexican and Chilean product.  Red and Black plums are still in good supply.  Gold Delicious, Granny Smith, and Red Delicious apples are available and at a good buy.  Pineapple supplies are expected to get tighter due to seasonal decline (however, check out our Hot Sheet Special) Prices are trending upward on limes.  Lemons are in full production out of Ventura County with good prices on some sizes (95’s & 115’s) 

Vegetable Report: Celery is an oversupply situation and prices are at a great buy. Asparagus is in good supply and continues to be a good buy. Italian parsley continues to be in tight supply and prices are high. Prices have begun to rise for bunched broccoli, and broccoli crowns, but still a good buy. Cauliflower supplies have improved and prices are coming down. Green and Red Cabbage, Bok Choy, Napa, Snow Peas, Kale, Cilantro, Curley Parsley, Carrots and Spinach are all in good supply. Cucumbers have come down in price due to supplies increasing out of the East coast. Green bell peppers are in good supply, and prices are firm. Red and Yellow Bell peppers continue to be in adequate supply, but prices are still high.

As with all fresh fruits and vegetables, the market could change daily . . .
