Tomato Report: Prices are steady for cherry and grape tomatoes. Larger tomatoes are poor in quality with prices rising.  The market on larger tomatoes will hopefully improve by next week.

Lettuce Report: Production is winding down in the desert region. Iceberg, Romaine, and Leaf lettuces are starting to rise in price.  Romaine appears to be the best buy this week.  Growing conditions are expected to improve after next week.   

Berry News: Check out this weeks Locally Grown Strawberries on special.  Great price with a sweet quality.  Raspberries continue to have limited availability, resulting in high prices.  Mexican blackberries are in good supply, reasonably priced with great quality. Blueberries are in tight supply with California and Florida now the primary sources of supply.

Fruit Report: California Naval oranges are in good supply especially on the smaller sizes 113’s and 138’s. The lemon market is expected to rise in April and continue to rise throughout the summer.  Rio Ruby Grapefruit, Minneolas, Blood Oranges, Cara Cara, and Tangerines are still available for shipment. Pineapple supply is in adequate supply from Central America.  Prices are starting to rise for Cantaloupes and Honeydews.  Watermelon production is improving, prices are steady.  Green Seedless Grapes are in great supply and good prices.  Black Seedless Grapes and Red Globes are available.  Plums and nectarines from Chile are in good supply, but peaches are limited in availability.  Prices are firm for the California and Mexican Hass Avocados.  Small size limes are good in supply but larger size are still having supply issues.

Vegetable Report: Broccoli and Broccoli Crowns are extremely high in prices.  Cauliflower prices are starting to ease.  Celery is still in good supply and great price.  Carrots are in good supply.  Demand is increasing for green onions with the approach of Easter.  Leek, Parsley, Kale, Bok Choy, Napa Cabbage, and Snow Peas are in good supply.  Spinach is in limited supply.  Spring Mix and Arugula are in good supplies and excellent quality.  Baby spinach has improved this week.  Mache is in tight supply due to quality issues.  Pricing on cucumbers is starting to come down.  Green Bell Peppers are in good supply.  Supplies are also tightening for red and gold bell peppers.  Zucchini and yellow squash will be in consistent supply through the end of the Nogales season.  Prices have spiked higher for eggplant in both Nogales and Florida.

As with all fresh fruits and vegetables, the market could change daily . . .
