In Season Right Now: Bitter Melon, Blood Oranges, Cara Cara, Orange Seckle, Pears, Peaches.

Locally Grown: Organic Brussels Sprouts, Item #4763. Grown out of San Juan Batista, CA.

Tomato Report: Roma tomatoes are struggling with color and quality. We are seeing product getting better in San Diego, in addition, quality is getting better on other tomatoes with more color becoming available as weather improves in Mexico.

Lettuce Report:The market has come off a bit to start the week.  Prices are starting to ease down due to supplies steadily increasing in Yuma.

Berry News: Strawberries are a challenge due to weather conditions in Salinas and Watsonville.  In addition, Santa Maria / Oxnard are not up to their winter production.  Raspberry market is steady with fair to good quality.  Blackberries are showing good quality, and great pricing.  Blueberries are coming out of Argentina, and Chile.

Fruit Report: The melon market is steady.  Cantaloupe large sizes are showing slightly higher prices than usual.  Honeydews are still the better but the market is starting to get higher.  Chilean Cherries are available.  Lemon market is higher on small sizes due to supply becoming tight, but supply is good on larger size.  Mexican avocados are holding firm, with prices steady.  Black Figs are coming to an end soon, but Brown Turkey Figs are a great alternative. Kiwi market is steady with quality being good.  Pineapple is also a good buy this week with sugar content being high.  First pick of Kumquats are fair quality but should improve. The grape market is steady, red globe seeded and Green Grapes are also still available but supplies are starting to drop off.  Orange market is higher on small sizes

Vegetable Report: Corn supplies are coming up short as Mexico crops are off to a slow start, expect price increases on both white and yellow.  The pepper market is staring to come down, especially on red and yellow.  Broccoli market is much better because Yuma is starting this week.  The carrot market is steady, quality and availability remains consistent.  Cauliflower market is steady.  Haricot Vert Beans is very limited, and prices are extremely high, an alternative would be Yellow Wax Beans.  Straight neck squash is a better buy then Crookneck squash. Baby squashes supplies are good, in addition, to prices starting to come down.  Also, winter squashes are starting to wind down.  Onion market has very good supplies with good quality.

As with all fresh fruits and vegetables, the market could change daily . . .
