Specialty: Baby Veggies: Baby Squashes are all very nice and prices are low; French Beans and Yellow Wax Beans are still a bargain; Rambutan, Lychee Nuts, Dragon Fruit, and Pomegranates are in; Star Fruit is now unavailable...…


Stone Fruit: Bing Cherries are still good; Apricots, Peaches, Nectarines, and Plums are good too; we have Elephant Heart, Dapple Dandy, and Golden Globe Pluots available…


Tomato Report: The market is in the unchanged; quality is very good and prices remain low; Mix heirloom tomatoes are very good and prices are off, red grape, yellow grape, sweet 100 cherry tomatoes, and clusters are all in good supply and prices are low……

Lettuce Report: We are still seeing the effects of the heat wave; tip burn and interior damage is evident on most leaf; Romaine Hearts are very short and prices are up....


Berry News: Strawberries; Heat damage is driving this market; quality is mediocre, product is short, and prices are strong; Blackberries, Blueberries, and Raspberries are struggling with quality issues too; Blueberries will be reverting back to the 12x6 oz very soon.…

Fruit Report: Avocados: Availability of California fruit is good; prices are steady. Bananas: Prices are off slightly. Citrus: California Star Ruby Grapefruits are still good. California Valencia Orange quality is very good and prices are lower. Lemons are unchanged. Limes are short and prices are up due to rainy weather in Mexico. Grapes: Quality is excellent and prices are low. New Zealand Green and Gold Kiwis are very good. Cantaloupes; Prices have been very low but the market is beginning to rebound; Westside district fruit quality is excellent. Honeydew quality very good and pricing is low. Mixed Melon varieties include Orange Dews, Crenshaw, Tuscan, and Galia’s; Watermelon prices are low. Maui and Costa Rican Pineapples are very good; volume is better and prices are beginning to come down....

Vegetable Report: Artichokes: Supplies are good and prices are unchanged. Asparagus: Prices are moving up due to rain in the Mexican fields; Peruvian is also up due to the shortage of Mexican grass. Blue Lake Beans: Fresno quality is good; prices low. Broccoli and Cauliflower are low this week. Brussels Sprout: Supply is better; prices are stable. Celery: Prices are off. Cabbage: Pricing is unchanged. Carrots: Prices are steady. Cilantro is suffering from the heat; prices are up. Chilies: Quality of California jalapeno and serrano’s are very good. Cucumbers: Prices remain low; Hothouse Cucumbers are coming up short; prices are on the upswing. Corn: Corn is good; prices are low. Eggplant: Fresno eggplants are very nice; prices are stable. Supplies of Japanese and Chinese Eggplants are very nice too. Mushrooms: The Oregon Wild Mushroom season is in winding down; Blue Foot, Lobster, Chanterelle, and Maitake are all available. Onions: Brown, red, and white onions prices are stronger. Peppers: Green, Red, and Gold bells are unchanged this week; quality is good and prices are unchanged. Zucchini quality is very good; quality is good and prices are up moderately. Gold Zucchini is much the same; quality is good and prices are up only slightly...


As with all fresh fruits and vegetables, the market could change daily . . .
