Fruit: Nectarines, Peaches, Saturn Peaches, Apricots and Cherries are all at their peak. Plums and Pluots are good; we have Mango-Nectarine and Dapple Dandy Pluots available… |
Tomato
Report: The market has the summertime blues; quality is very good and prices are much lower than last week; Mixed Heirloom Tomato growers have ample supplies of excellent product; prices are low… |
Lettuce
Report: Heat damage has supplies on the light side; prices are firm and quality only fair.... |
Berry
News: Strawberries; Growers are struggling with quality and prices remain firm; Blackberries and Raspberries are in the same situation; quality will be the issue. Blueberries are in better shape and growers are switching to larger packs; quality remains very good… |
Fruit
Report: Avocados: Availability of California fruit is good; prices are steady. Bananas: Prices are off slightly. Citrus: California Star Ruby Grapefruits are still good. California Valencia Orange quality is very good and prices are low. Limes remain plentiful and cheap. Grapes: Quality and sizing are very good; prices are low. New Zealand Green and Gold Kiwis are very good. Cantaloupes; Prices are high and 9 count melons are at a premium; all this will be changing this week when growers transition from the desert to the Westside. Honeydews are more even in quality and pricing is strong. Mixed Melon varieties include Orange Dews, Crenshaw, Tuscan, and Galia’s; Watermelon prices are still strong due to supermarket ads for the July 4th holiday. Maui and Costa Rican Pineapples are very good; prices are low.... |

Report: Artichokes: Supplies are loosening up and prices are off. Asparagus: Prices are easing off as Mexican, Washington, and Peruvian grass are all available. Blue Lake Beans: Fresno quality is good; prices are low. Broccoli and Cauliflower pricing is lower this week. Brussels Sprout: Supply remains light; prices are still high. Celery: Prices are stronger this week as Oxnard finishes up. Cabbage: Green is up, Red is lower. Carrots: Prices are steady. Cucumbers: Prices are lower; Hothouse cucumbers are unchanged. Corn: Corn is good; prices are low. Eggplant: Fresno eggplants are very nice; prices are stable. Supplies of Japanese and Chinese Eggplants are very nice too. Mushrooms: The Oregon Wild Mushroom season is in full swing; Morel, Chanterelle, and Porcini are all available; fresh Lobster Mushrooms should arrive in 2 – 3 weeks. Onions: Brown, red, and white onions prices are unchanged. Peppers: Green is no problem but Red and Gold are very short and prices are on their way up. Zucchini growers have product everywhere; quality is excellent and prices are low. Gold Zucchini and Yellow Squash are also in oversupply; quality is good and prices are low... |
