Specialty: Baby Veggies: Prices on Baby Squashes are still low; Look for our special on French Beans this week; $12.50 for 10 lbs! Yellow Wax Beans remain short and higher priced. Peeled Baby Carrots with top are no longer a problem…



Stone Fruit:
Chilean Pluots available this week include Dapple Dandy and Lemon; Peaches and Nectarines are still good. Apricots are finished for the season. Bing and Rainier Cherries quality is not very good….


Tomato Report: Prices remain firm on all kinds of tomatoes; smaller sizes are particularly short and hard to source; supplies are still running light due to cold weather in Mexico; prices on specialty and cluster tomatoes remain strong as well....

Lettuce Report: No change in leaf prices; Iceberg is perking up slightly. Spinach quality is good; prices are low; Mescaline, Baby Spinach and Baby Arrugula all have good availability; prices are unchanged....


Berry News: Strawberries; Rain has affected both quality price; fruit is short and quality is fair at best. Raspberries are very short and prices are on the upswing. Chilean Blackberries are a still a good value; quality is good and prices are up slightly. Blueberries remain one of the better priced and good quality fruits; prices are still low; we will be making the switch from Chilean to California this week; the increase in quality far outweighs the increased price…

Fruit Report: Apples and Pears: Supply and quality remain good. Avocados: Availability of California fruit is good; prices are up slightly. Bananas: South American growers are all short on fruit; prices remain high. Citrus: Texas Grapefruit and Valencia oranges are unchanged; Lemon prices are unchanged; Limes prices remain high; California Navel orange prices are up slightly. Blood Oranges are in good supply; prices are low. Grapes: Black, Green, and Red Grape quality is very good; prices are down again. Cantaloupes are down; Honeydews are up; quality is improving and prices are unchanged; Watermelons are coming up short this week; quality is only fair and prices are up. Costa Rican and Maui pineapples are short this week; prices are up again....

Vegetable Report: Artichokes: Quality is improving and prices are steady. Asparagus: Quality is very good; prices are low. Blue Lake Beans: Quality remains good; prices are off again. Broccoli and Cauliflower: No changes; supply is good and prices are low. Brussels Sprout: Growers are in gap; supplies are tight and prices are up. Celery: Availability is good; prices are low. Cabbage: Prices are unchanged. Carrots: Prices are unchanged. Cucumbers: Supplies are good and prices are much lower; Hothouse cucumbers are in good shape too. Eggplant: Cold weather is still wreaking havoc on everything from Globes to Japanese Eggplant; prices remain high. Onions: Brown, red, and white onions prices are unchanged. Peppers: Green and Gold Bell prices are unchanged but Red Bell Peppers prices are going through the roof; cold weather is causing peppers to be harvested on the green side. Straightneck and Gold Zucchini are cheaper this week; Green Zucchini is unchanged...
